"API integration" covers a wide range of actual work, from a few days connecting two SaaS tools to a multi-month project keeping a legacy ERP and a new application in sync. Knowing which one you need changes both the cost and the right partner.
Three levels of integration work
- Point-to-point (days to weeks): connecting two existing tools — syncing a CRM with a support desk, or a form tool with an email platform.
- Custom middleware (weeks to months): a purpose-built layer that transforms and routes data between systems that weren't designed to talk to each other.
- Legacy system integration (months): a bidirectional layer between something like an ERP and a new application, built so the legacy system stays the single source of truth rather than being replaced — this is genuine engineering, not a quick connector.
How we scope it
We identify which level your need actually falls into before quoting — the biggest cost mistake in this category is scoping a legacy-integration problem as if it were a point-to-point connector. See our Cloud & API service.
