Migrated a monolith off bare metal onto AWS with zero downtime, cut monthly spend by 47% and made deployment a non-event.
A regulated lending platform ran on ageing colocated hardware with manual, after-hours deployments performed by one person. Scaling meant buying servers months in advance. An RBI audit had flagged the absence of disaster recovery as a material risk.
We containerised the application and migrated it to AWS in phases with parallel running and traffic shifting, so each step was reversible. Infrastructure is fully described in Terraform, deployments run through GitHub Actions with automated rollback, and multi-AZ with cross-region backup satisfies the DR requirement. Right-sizing and reserved instances brought spend down sharply.
Zero downtime during migration. Deployments went from a monthly after-hours event to several per week during business hours. Monthly infrastructure cost fell 47%, and the DR audit finding was closed.
We will walk you through how we would approach it — scope, risks, timeline and cost.
